The recent developments in the Renuka Swamy murder case, along with the allegations of special treatment within prison walls, have cast a dark shadow over his career and reputation that even the brightest Kannada film industry can’t seem to dispel.
In the latest developments, controversial Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa remains in judicial custody as a charge sheet is soon expected in connection to the tragic murder of his fan, Renuka Swamy. Meanwhile, additional charges may also be filed against Darshan in this case. According to reports from Asianet Newsable Kannada, police are preparing to submit another charge sheet involving Darshan, criminal Nagaraj, and another gangster regarding an alleged special privilege case within Parappana’s Agrahara Central Jail that recently sparked controversy.
Additionally, the report indicates that following Darshan Thoogudeepa’s transfer from one prison to Bellary Jail due to suspected special treatment, an investigation uncovered proof substantiating the accusations and found prison authorities collaborating in this action.
Furthermore, it’s been reported that the Electronic City police sub-division has nearly finished investigating this case and is now readying the charge sheet for submission in court. At present, they have shared the list of charges with legal advisors for scrutiny. Once they receive their feedback, they will proceed with the final step.
For those not familiar, Darshan Thoogudeepa was moved from Parappana’s Agrahara Central Prison due to a photo and video of him seemingly receiving special treatment within the jail becoming widely shared online. The viral image depicts the sandalwood actor relaxing while smoking a cigarette with criminal Nagaraj, also known as Wilson Garden Naga, on the prison grounds. It is important to note that Wilson Garden Naga is currently detained under the Karnataka Control of Organised Crime Act, 2000, for his involvement in the murder of gangster Siddapura Mahesh.
In a recently shared video, Thoogudeeooa can be spotted placing a video call from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison. In this brief 25-second clip, an individual wearing a yellow T-shirt is clearly visible during the call. Following this, Darshan appears on screen, greeting the other party warmly with a cheerful wave.
Immediately following the appearance of this photograph and video on the internet, the actor under suspicion for murder was transferred to Bellary Jail. Later, upon his transfer, a search within the prison uncovered numerous cigarettes, mobile phones, and knives, along with other items.
