TwitchCon chaos: Streamers face harassment and abuse from Kick creators

As a seasoned viewer and follower of both Twitch and Kick platforms, I must say this incident at TwichCon has left me utterly shocked and saddened. Having watched countless hours of streams from nmplol, Wake Wilder, xQc, and many others, it’s disheartening to see such chaotic and violent behavior from the Kick community.

At TwitchCon, San Diego, numerous disturbing incidents occurred where Twitch streamers were subjected to verbal harassment and even physical violence from creators of a competing platform, Kick. In short, several Twitch celebrities reported instances of harassment and outright assault by creators on the rival platform.

Kick streamers cause chaos, including pushing Twitch rivals into moving trains

In a surprising and uncomfortable event, Twitch personalities nmplol and Wake Wilder found themselves being kissed and licked unexpectedly by a Kick streamer during an informal gathering with fans. Later, this same Kick streamer made disrespectful remarks towards renowned Twitch personality xQc. As the situation deteriorated, xQc attempted to leave, but the Kick streamer persisted in harassing him outside the premises.

In a different occurrence, a disagreement between a Twitch streamer and another content producer intensified to such an extent that the streamer ended up being shoved onto an oncoming train!

During the live broadcast, Twitch streamer Erobb became embroiled in a heated fight following allegations by a Kick creator that he was unfaithful to his long-term partner. This physical altercation caused quite a stir among fellow streamers, who urged Twitch for a clarification on the matter.

Consequences for Kick streamers: Platform takes action

The Kick broadcaster, who has been abusive towards nmplol and xQc, has been expelled from Kick. In a tweet, this broadcaster explained his actions: “Whether right or wrong, my behavior does not reflect Kick. If I acted similarly on any other platform, I would simply be known as ‘a streamer’” – it’s unclear what he intended by that statement.

Which platform do you prefer in the ongoing debate between Kick and Twitch? The recent developments haven’t been flattering for Kick, I must say.
