What do we know about Marty Supreme?
At present, specifics about the storyline of the movie titled Marty Supreme are being kept confidential. Originally, it was thought that this film would depict the life of professional table tennis player Marty Reisman, who lived between 1930 and 2012. However, it has since been disclosed that the movie is not a biography but rather an original work, fictionalized for the big screen.
Along with Chalamet, Marty Supreme will star Gwyneth Paltrow and Tyler, the Creator.
Among various characters, you’ll find Odessa A’zion, Penn Jillette, Kevin O’Leary, and Abel Ferrara. The script was penned by Safdie and Ronald Bronstein, who are also involved in the film’s production alongside Eli Bush, Anthony Katagas, Chalamet, and A24.
In 2008, Safdie launched his first directorial venture for feature films with “The Pleasure of Being Robbed.” Since then, he’s collaborated with his brother Benny on various projects, such as the 2017 release “Good Time” featuring Robert Pattinson and the 2019 film “Uncut Gems,” starring Adam Sandler. As the brothers have chosen to pursue separate paths, Benny is currently working on a standalone project called “The Smashing Machine,” which will star Dwayne Johnson and is scheduled for release in 2025.
Timothée Chalamet recently reappeared as Paul Atreides in Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two, a film that hit theaters earlier this year. Coming up next, he’ll portray Bob Dylan in James Mangold’s biographical drama titled A Complete Unknown, which is set to premiere on December 25, 2024.
A release date for Marty Supreme has not yet been announced by A24.
