As a seasoned gamer who has navigated countless virtual worlds, I can confidently say that I’m always on the lookout for fresh, mind-bending narratives to immerse myself in. The upcoming Netflix release, “It’s What’s Inside,” seems to be just that, and more! With Alycia Debnam-Carey from “Fear the Walking Dead” on board, I’m intrigued by this trippy, genre-bending story.
This coming Friday, October 4th, Netflix plans to debut their latest film titled “It’s What’s Inside“. The movie features Alycia Debnam-Carey, who is known for her role in “Fear the Walking Dead”.
The captivating, genre-blending film “What’s Inside” directed by Greg Jardin created quite a stir at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival, where it had its world premiere. Netflix secured the movie in a high-stakes bidding war for a record $17 million, making it the biggest deal of that year’s festival. Co-produced by Such Content, Boldy Go, and Colman Domingo’s Edith Productions, the film also features Colman Domingo himself from “Fear TWD”. Domingo, Robert Kapp serve as executive producers, while William Rosenfeld, Kate Andrews, Jason Baum, and Raul Domingo, Colman Domingo’s husband, take on the producing roles.
The film wasn’t the horror that many viewers and critics anticipated when it was marketed as such. Instead, director Jardin clarifies that they never intended it to be a horror film, describing it more accurately as a science fiction thriller with comedic elements. For more details, check out Tudum’s interview with Jardin and Domingo.
