As a seasoned gamer with a penchant for crime-drama games, I must say that The Penguin Episode 2, “Inside Man,” was a rollercoaster ride of suspense and betrayal, much like the twisted plots in my favorite Grand Theft Auto or Mafia series.
As a die-hard fan, I can’t help but be on tenterhooks after watching “The Penguin Episode 2” titled “Inside Man,” which graced our screens on Sunday, September 29. The suspense is killing me! I can’t wait to find out how it ends and who among the characters meets their demise. In this exhilarating episode, our beloved anti-hero Oswald “Oz” Cobb, aka The Penguin (portrayed brilliantly by Colin Farrell), is in a race against time. He’s determined to prove he isn’t the mole for a rival mob family and instead shift the blame onto a formidable underboss. But as luck would have it, things don’t go according to plan, forcing our Penguin to think on his feet and adapt quickly. The suspense is palpable!

Who dies at the end of The Penguin Episode 2 and why?
In episode 2, Sofia Falcone (played by Cristin Milioti) discovers that one of their relatives has been secretly aiding the Maroni family following their admission of responsibility for Alberto’s murder. To uncover the identity of this traitor, she hires a detective who used to work on her father’s team.
At first, Oz intends to accuse Johnny Viti (Michael Kelly), a trusted underboss under the new don Luca Falcone’s brother Carmine (Scott Cohen), of treachery. Later, when Detective Sofia apprehends Ervad, a prominent Maroni family member, and brings him in for questioning, she delegates Castillo, her most trusted associate within the organization, to uncover the truth. By this point, Oz has already made up his mind to implicate Viti with the goal of replacing him as an underboss.
At Alberto’s funeral, Victor couldn’t manage to hide the diamonds in Viti’s vehicle – these were the same gems that Alberto had been trying to retrieve the night Oz murdered him. With no other option, Oz decided to kill Ervad, who he originally planned to release, and framed everything on Castillo. Later, Luca gunned down Castillo, and ultimately, the diamonds were discovered in Castillo’s residence.
In the task of burying the bodies, an exasperated Oz placed Victor next to the deceased men in the grave to drive home the consequences of not carrying out his duties effectively. Later, Oz instructed Victor to leave the grave, but this lesson about accountability is one he’s unlikely to forget quickly.
Why do Oz and Sofia team up in The Penguin Episode 2?
After Castillo’s demise, Sofia finds herself without any family supporters from the clan once led by her father. Throughout the episode, it’s evident that she views Oz as a relentless and power-hungry individual. However, by the finale, even Sofia appears to believe that Castillo was responsible for her brother’s murder.
Following Luca’s assertion that she should depart from Gotham, Sofia chooses to join forces with Oz, who has persistently extended invitations for collaboration. Moreover, she harbors a strong animosity towards her family due to her experiences at Arkham. Sofia seeks Oz’s aid in seizing control of her family, while Oz aims to secure Alberto’s shipment of a novel drug. However, this alliance is precarious and will crumble the instant Sofia learns that Oz is actually her brother’s true murderer.
