The upcoming survival drama “Boat,” starring Yogi Babu, is preparing for its digital premiere. This Tamil film, helmed by director Chimbu Devan, is scheduled to launch on the streaming platform, Amazon Prime Video, on October 1, 2024.
Venkat Prabhu, the director of the Greatest of All Time (GOAT), revealed the news himself through his social media channels. His post stated, “I am thrilled to share that The BOAT will start streaming on Amazon Prime from October 1st, a Tuesday. Enjoy watching everyone!

In the movie titled “Boat,” featuring Yogi Babu, the story unfolds during World War II when Japan, as a member of the Axis powers, conducted air raids on regions under British rule. With Madras (now Chennai) potentially under threat from these attacks, many residents chose to evacuate in haste.
During this situation, ten individuals attempt to flee Madras on a modest watercraft. Unfortunately, the boat encounters trouble and begins to take on water, causing it to slowly sink while en route. This leaves the passengers in a desperate struggle to stay alive as the vessel continues to submerge.
In addition to Gouri G. Kishan, M. S. Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Jesse Fox-Allen, Chaams, Jangiri Madhumitha, Sha Ra, Kulappulli Leela, and several others, the film boasts a talented ensemble of actors in significant roles. The film, written and directed by Chimbu Devan, is brought to life musically by Ghibran. The movie first hit the big screens on August 2, 2024.
On Yogi Babu’s career side, the actor-comedian recently appeared in films such as “The Greatest of All Time” starring Thalapathy Vijay and “Kozhipannai Chelladurai”. In the former film, directed by Venkat Prabhu, Yogi Babu played a secondary character.
Additionally, the actor will soon join forces with Suriya in the upcoming film Kanguva, helmed by director Siva. This highly anticipated movie is scheduled to hit theaters on November 14, 2024, and it promises to be an exciting blend of fantasy and action elements set across two distinct timelines.
