Although they had an impressive rookie talent in Angel Reese, who scored an average of 13.6 points and grabbed 13.1 rebounds, setting a WNBA record with 15 consecutive double-doubles, the team endured substantial struggles, particularly during the latter stages of the season. After the Olympic break, their performance plummeted to a disappointing 3-13 record. The injury that Reese sustained on September 7 added to the challenges they faced in pursuing success.
