Rosebush Pruning Cast Adds Callum Turner, Riley Keough, & More

As a seasoned gamer with a soft spot for intriguing film adaptations, I must admit that the news of Callum Turner and Riley Keough joining the cast of Rosebush Pruning has sent a shiver of anticipation down my spine. With a rich background in dark comedies like Masters of the Air and Daisy Jones & The Six, their addition to this ensemble promises an electric chemistry that could potentially outshine even the most vibrant pixels in a high-definition game.

Actors Callum Turner (previously known as “Masters of the Air”) and Riley Keough (originally from “Daisy Jones & The Six”) have agreed to join the cast for the English adaptation of Marco Bellocchio’s 1965 Italian dark comedy, Fists in the Pocket. Filming is currently taking place in Spain.

Besides me, Jamie Bell (All of Us Strangers), Lukas Gage (Smile 2), Tracy Letts (Lady Bird), Elena Anaya (The Skin I Live In), and Pamela Anderson (The Last Showgirl) are also part of the team for this project. We’re going to work together with Elle Fanning, who will soon appear in the Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown.

Kristen Stewart & Josh O’Connor exit Rosebush Pruning cast

As I’ve heard from Variety, it looks like Elle Fanning and Timothée Chalamet are stepping into the lead roles for the Rosebush Pruning film. Originally, Kristen Stewart, who received an Oscar nomination, and Josh O’Connor, a Golden Globe winner, were set to play these parts. However, they had to leave the project due to scheduling issues. At the moment, Kristen is deeply engaged in her directorial debut, The Chronology of Water, while Josh will soon appear in Netflix’s Knives Out threequel, Wake Up Dead Man, alongside Glenn Close and Andrew Scott.

Ainouz expressed immense enthusiasm about translating this daring and scrumptious script into reality, as it pushes boundaries on conventional family structures and patriarchal norms. This exceptional group of actors, whom he has long respected, will be instrumental in this endeavor,” stated Ainouz.

Karim Aïnouz is leading the direction of Rosebush Pruning, based on a script penned by Efthimis Filippou. This movie is being produced by Viola Fügen, Michael Weber, Simone Gattoni, Annamaria Morelli, Andreas Wentz, Juan Cano, and Rachel Dargavel. The 1965 original film is recognized as a crucial piece of Italian cinema, offering a grim satire on family and societal norms. Lou Castel heads the cast in this movie, which revolves around a young man with epilepsy who contemplates killing his troubled family.
