As a seasoned gamer with decades of gaming under my belt and a deep affection for the Assassin’s Creed series, I must admit, this latest turn of events has left me somewhat perplexed. The anticipation for Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was palpable, and the delay is certainly not the news we were hoping for.
Recently, there has been an ongoing flow of disheartening news concerning Assassin’s Creed: Shadows.
Japan’s assassins are struggling
Originally set for release on November 12, 2024, Assassin’s Creed: Shadows was expected to captivate players. In anticipation, Ubisoft has been showcasing the game at various events. However, it is with a bit of disappointment that I share the news that AC Shadows will now be released in February 2025, as Ubisoft has announced a delay.
In a recent announcement, Ubisoft stated that Assassin’s Creed: Shadow has been completed, but they are postponing its launch because of the negative response towards Star Wars Outlaw upon its debut.
Assassin’s Creed Shadows will now be released on 14 February 2025. While the game is feature complete, the learnings from the Star Wars Outlaws release led us to provide additional time to further polish the title.
As a fan, I was eagerly awaiting the press previews scheduled for next week, but Ubisoft has decided to push back the embargo on these previews to an undisclosed date. Given the recent turmoil and the importance of delivering a quality product, it’s clear that they’re choosing to take the extra time they need to ensure their game is nothing short of excellent.
Based on the leaked videos of AC Shadows, it certainly appears that they’re headed in the right direction to resurrect their most significant series.
