The report continues by noting that both Deadpool and Wolverine are being put forward for nomination at numerous prestigious award ceremonies, including the Screen Actors Guild Awards, Critics Choice Awards, and even the Oscars. Regarding the Oscars specifically, efforts will also be made to have the film considered in the technical categories such as set design, sound, and special effects.
It might seem unexpected, but it’s not unheard of for a Deadpool film to receive notable award nominations. In fact, the first Deadpool movie garnered two Golden Globe nominations back in 2016. Among these were ‘Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy’, and ‘Best Actor’ (Ryan Reynolds).
Marvel Studios has had its fair share of accolades too, with the Marvel Cinematic Universe garnering a total of 4 Academy Awards out of 27 nominations across its lifespan. More recently, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever took home an Oscar for Best Costume Design at this year’s ceremony.
