As a long-time fan who’s witnessed the rise and fall (and rise again!) of legends like Kurt Angle, I can’t help but feel a mix of nostalgia and excitement at the prospect of his potential return to WWE. From his iconic rivalries with Triple H, The Rock, and Stone Cold, to his electrifying in-ring skills and unparalleled comedic timing, Angle has left an indelible mark on the wrestling world.
Legendary wrestler Kurt Angle, a former multiple-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion, might be thinking about returning to the promotion. Known for his captivating charm, Angle first made an impact in the promotion back in 1999, quickly becoming a fan favorite. In the early 2000s, he rose through the ranks to become one of WWE’s top stars.
His competition with Triple H, The Rock, and Stone Cold Steele significantly boosted his status as a top-tier performer within the promotion. Furthermore, his ring abilities were exceptional among his peers, and his comedic delivery remains a topic of conversation even today. Despite achieving great fame in the WWE, Angle chose to part ways with the company in 2006. He subsequently joined TNA, where he achieved significant success.
2017 marked the long-awaited comeback of Kurt Angle to the WWE after an 11-year hiatus. This highly anticipated return saw him named as the main act for that year’s WWE Hall of Fame induction. Throughout his subsequent time with the promotion, he assumed the role of General Manager for RAW, but this wasn’t his only involvement – he also participated in numerous matches.
2019 saw me stepping into the ring one last time at WrestleMania 35, facing off against Baron Corbin – a match I unfortunately lost. Ever since hanging up my wrestling boots, whispers of a comeback have been swirling. Lately, I’ve shared some insights about returning to WWE, hinting that I might be eyeing a role behind the scenes as a manager instead.
Kurt Angle open to a WWE return as a manager
As a hardcore gaming enthusiast (and former WWE Hall of Famer), I’ve been tossing around the notion of stepping back into the ring… or rather, the sidelines as a manager for Chad Gable and his freshly-minted crew, American Made. At a recent K&S WrestleFest event, I hinted at this possibility during my appearance. If the numbers crunch in my favor, teaming up with Gable and his squad could be one heck of an exciting journey!
He shared that WWE approached him when Matt Riddle debuted, proposing he manage Riddle, yet the proposal was underwhelming, not beneficial enough. Regrettably, he’s passionate about wrestling, but as a shrewd businessman, one must make prudent choices for their family’s sake.
Recently, Chad Gable parted ways with his Alpha Academy faction. Since then, he’s teamed up with The Creed Brothers and Ivy Nile to create a new group called American Made. Frequently, fans have shown excitement about the possibility of Kurt Angle returning to manage Gable. It will be intriguing to discover if WWE has any plans for bringing Angle back in that capacity.
