As a long-time WWE fan and someone who has followed the career trajectories of countless superstars, I must admit that I find myself torn between excitement for Jacob Fatu’s rapid rise and concern for his long-term development. On one hand, Fatu’s raw talent and brutal aggression have made him an instant hit with fans, and his addition to The Bloodline has undeniably strengthened the faction. However, I can’t help but echo Rikishi’s sentiments about the potential risks of rushing such a promising newcomer.
Jacob Fatu, the latest recruit for The Bloodline in WWE, has caused quite a stir within the promotion. On the June 21st episode of SmackDown, he burst onto the scene with a fierce attack on Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, and Kevin Owens.
On his debut night, he delivered a crushing Samoan Drop to Kevin Owens onto the steel steps, followed by a forceful spear which propelled Randy Orton into the barricades. To end his night, he executed a daring dive headfirst that sent Cody Rhodes crashing through the commentary table.
Fatu’s inclusion in The Bloodline significantly boosted their power. Not only does his presence reinforce the group, but it also played a crucial role in Solo Sikoa pinning Cody Rhodes, the WWE Undisputed Champion, at Money in the Bank. With Fatu on board, the Samoan Werewolf has left an indelible impact on the WWE roster, even contributing to The Bloodline’s victory in the tag team title match.
Despite eventually giving up the title to Tonga Loa, Fatu’s future in WWE appears promising. Yet, considering the significant attention he has garnered since his debut, particularly when he single-handedly defeated Roman Reigns, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi believes that the accelerated pace of his advancement within WWE might be premature.
Rikishi believes WWE is pushing Jacob Fatu too fast
As an ardent fan, I can’t help but echo the sentiments expressed by Rikishi on the “Off The Top” podcast about the meteoric rise of Jacob Fatu in WWE. He cautioned that after squaring off against a shining star like Cody Rhodes, it might prove difficult for Fatu to progress further since Rhodes is currently holding a prominent position within WWE.
He continued by stating, “I’ve made this point before, it’s time to unleash Jacob on the entire roster. Provide him with a few enhancement matches to strengthen his performance. Just three minutes should suffice for him. You might recall that we’ve seen Jacob in action for quite some time now, whether it’s been a couple of months or more. But is there anything new? One can only accomplish so much during a surprise appearance. This is my perspective.
Rikishi suggested, “If you’re serious about going with him, let him demonstrate his abilities. Not a regular match, but rather a one-sided contest, a squash match, so he can showcase his full potential. I don’t think Jacob is ready to face Cody just yet.
As I prepare for an intense clash at WWE Bad Blood, I’m partnering with Solo Sikoa against the powerhouse pairing of Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes. The anticipation is high: who among us will end up taking the decisive fall in this epic confrontation?
