As a long-time admirer of heartwarming queer teen romances, I must say that the Bonus Track trailer has me absolutely thrilled! Being a child of the early 2000s myself, I can’t help but feel nostalgic for those formative years and the struggles we faced finding ourselves amidst societal expectations.
Sunrise Films unveiled a sneak peek, or preview, of an additional scene, known as a Bonus Track, ahead of the U.S. cinematic premiere of their newest film about young love between members of the LGBTQ+ community.
In 2006, a sixteen-year-old named George from a small town was headed for complete academic and social flop. He yearned to be a star, aware of his musical talent – yet others seemed deaf to it. However, fate stepped in when Max, the son of a renowned music duo, joined his school and showed interest in George’s music. This turn of events left both George and everyone else astonished. As the two grew closer, George started to ponder whether he truly wanted to spend time with Max… George was presented with a seemingly dream-come-true scenario, but he had to first decipher what that dream now truly entailed.

When is the Bonus Track release date?
After debuting in U.K. cinemas back in June, the movie “Bonus Track” is set to hit U.S. theaters on October 11th. This film initially premiered at the BFI London Film Festival. Julia Jackman directed it from a script penned by Mike Gilbert, who co-created the story with Golden Globe winner Josh O’Connor. Notably, “The Challengers” star will make a special appearance in the movie for a brief role.

The film is overseen by a team of executive producers that includes O’Connor, Caroline Cooper Charles, Laura Grange, Sophie Green, Pietro Greppi, Stephen Kelliher, Martha Kinn, Jan Pace, James Riley, Michael Smith, Julia Stuart, and Safitri Widagdo.
