His versatile acting skills and penchant for horror roles have earned him the title Scream King, but his latest project, Carolina Caroline, promises to showcase a different side of his talent.

More recently, it was announced that Kyle Gallner, known for his roles in “The Walking Dead,” “Strange Darlings,” and “Dinner in America,” is part of a new romantic crime thriller titled “Carolina Caroline.” According to Deadline, this upcoming film, directed by Adam Carter Rehmeier (“Dinner in America”), is currently being filmed with Kyle Gallner, Samara Weaving, Kyra Sedgwick, and Jon Gries in Kentucky.

Immediately following the announcement, Gallner shared on Instagram that production on the project was complete, and he couldn’t wait for everyone to watch it.

Gallner has made a name for himself by playing the character Cassidy “Beaver” Casablancas on Veronica Mars, Bart Allen in Smallville, and Reed Garrett in CSI: NY.

Horror movies

2009 saw him appearing in consecutive horror films: “The Haunting of Connecticut,” where he portrayed a cancer patient tormented by malevolent spirits, and “Jennifer’s Body” as a character named Colin. Gallner recently celebrated the 15th anniversary of “Jennifer’s Body” by sharing a photo of Colin, sporting eyeliner and a lip ring.

In 2010, he featured in the remake of Wes Craven’s classic “A Nightmare on Elm Street.” He also played roles in Kevin Smith’s independent horror film “Red State” and “The Cleansing Hour,” a TV-drama based on a short film about a staged exorcism that goes awry. His appearances were also seen in the supernatural horrors “Ghosts of War” and the fifth installment of the franchise, “Scream (2022).

Actors Gallner and Jesse T. Usher, known for their roles in The Walking Dead Universe, featured in the 2022 psychological supernatural horror movie titled “Smile.” In the eagerly awaited sequel, “Smile 2,” set to be released on October 18, 2024, Gallner will reprise his role.

Lately, Kyle Gallner played a lead role in the critically acclaimed serial killer thriller “Strange Darling.” This movie boasts a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising it as “an exhilarating and surprising journey, featuring standout performances from Willa Fitzgerald and Kyle Gallner in ‘Strange Darling.'” JT Mollner was the director of this film, which was filmed using 35 mm film on location in Oregon under the guidance of Giovanni Ribisi. The cast includes Gallner, Willa Fitzgerald, Ed Begley Jr., and Genevieve. As per “When to Stream,” the movie is set for a VOD release starting October 1, 2024.

Other roles

Gallner has taken leading parts in numerous series such as “Interrogation”, “Outsiders”, and “Jan”. He portrayed Zach during season 4 of “The Walking Dead”, and made appearances in “Criminal Minds”, “The Shield”. In addition, he was featured on “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” twice – once in 2002 and another time in 2007, playing two distinct characters in separate episodes.
