As a seasoned gamer and ardent follower of all things Cyberpunk, I must say that the prospect of another anime series set in Night City has me jumping for joy! The first season of Edgerunners was an absolute masterpiece, and I’ve been yearning for more ever since its heart-wrenching conclusion.
During Geeked Week 2024, we received numerous updates from Netflix, one of which was about the development of another Cyberpunk-themed anime series.
Cyberpunk Edgerunners Season 2 incoming?
A teaser trailer revealed that Netflix is developing a new anime series based in the Cyberpunk universe. This news undeniably excited fans who had previously enjoyed the Netflix-Cyberpunk series, Edgerunners. Although we anticipate this isn’t going to be a follow-up season of Edgerunners, it seems more likely that it will be a spinoff show instead.

While it seems doubtful that there will be another season of Cyberpunk Edgerunners due to the way the first season concluded, there’s still a possibility for a spin-off focusing on some of the lesser characters.
Alternatively, there’s a possibility that they might spin a totally new tale about Night City; as of now, we’re uncertain about it.
We’re excited to witness Night City being brought back to life so beautifully! Unfortunately, we still haven’t set a release date, but rest assured, we’ll let you know as soon as we do.
