As a gamer with a soft spot for humor and a deep appreciation for diverse storytelling, I find myself utterly thrilled by the upcoming debut of “Rez Comedy.” Having grown up with a mix of indigenous and non-indigenous cultures, I’ve always found that laughter can bridge gaps and bring people together.

What happens in the Rez Comedy trailer?
The Rez Comedy trailer details the upcoming film, which sees eight Indigenous comics all coming together from around Canada to put on a special set connected by the Squamish nation. The set was filmed in June 2024 in front of a live crowd, and will release theatrically beginning on October 4, 2024, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

In simpler terms, “Rez Comedy” is a film that’s been directed by both Quentin Lee and Keith Nahanee. Notable performances in this movie include actors such as Wayne Alexis, Chuck Cease, Denise B. McLeod, Janelle Niles, Drea Omer, Helena Paul, Brenda Prince, and Kevin Shawanda.
Initially, the idea behind Rez Comedy emerged as a 13-episode television series intended for APTN (Aboriginal Peoples Television Network) and CMF (Canada Media Fund). Unfortunately, this project did not receive the go-ahead, and efforts to fund it through crowdfunding also fell short. In the end, they opted to finance its production as a movie instead.
