Stephen Amell Wants Heels Season 3 to Be a Netflix Original

As a devoted fan who has followed Stephen Amell’s journey from Arrow to Heels, I am eagerly awaiting the potential third season of this gripping wrestling drama. The prospect of Heels transitioning from a Starz original to a Netflix Original would not only broaden its reach but also make it more accessible to fans like me who are always on the hunt for their next binge-worthy series.

The wrestling drama series starring Stephen Amell, titled “Heels”, has now premiered on Netflix, sparking speculation about the potential of a third season. In a recent interview, he hinted at the show’s future, suggesting that it might transition into a Netflix Original. Originally airing on Starz, “Heels” focuses on two brothers who manage a small-town wrestling promotion, with Amell playing the character Jack Spade.

Stephen Amell provides Heels Season 3 update for Netflix

Actor Stephen Amell recently addressed the possibility of a third season of Heels.

On the Busted Open Podcast, Amell expressed optimism about the potential continuation of the show on Netflix. He stated, “We’d love for the hashtag to be #HeelsSeason3. And yes, strangely enough, no one listened to my advice. You can see that it’s labeled as Season 1 and Season 2 on Netflix right now. So logically, we should consider changing it from a Starz original to a Netflix original or series.

Currently, neither Netflix nor Starz has officially announced a third season for the show “Heels”. The series debuted on Netflix on September 15, 2024, broadening its fanbase. Surprisingly, it hasn’t made an appearance in Netflix’s Top 10 list so far. Initially airing on Starz from 2021 to 2023, the series was unfortunately canceled after that.

Michael Waldron, who developed the series Heels, chatted with Variety about its Netflix premiere, remarking, “We’d frequently exclaim, ‘Gosh, if we were on Netflix, everyone would be watching this show!’ Now it seems like the universe has tested our bravado.” Additionally, he hinted at a potential third season, suggesting that it would delve into the ominous aspects of success as the Duffy Wrestling League (DWL) ascends to a higher echelon.

Waldron expressed, “If you see them on TV, and if many residents in this town have not been wealthy until now, what would it appear as when suddenly everyone is doing much better?” Furthermore, he hinted that they’ve had fruitful discussions with WWE, which could possibly influence the narrative if the series carries on.

Heels is now streaming on Netflix.
