As a lifestyle expert with a rich background in cinema, I must say that the re-release of Mammootty’s Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha is an exciting event for cinephiles and Malayalam film enthusiasts. Having witnessed the original release back in 2009, I can attest to its impact and enduring appeal.
The 2009 movie “Mammootty’s Paleri Manikyam: A Tale from a Palm-Leaf Manuscript” by director Ranjith will return to cinemas this year. On October 4, 2024, you can catch it on the big screen again.
The movie showcases a renowned actor portraying three distinct characters, mirroring roles from a novel penned by TP Rajeevan with the same title. This movie, a sensation in its time, earned Mammootty his fifth Kerala State Award for Best Actor.
Check out the post for Paleri Manikyam’s re-release here:
The movie “Paleri Manikyam: Oru Pathirakolapathakathinte Katha” is inspired by real events, marking the first-ever murder case documented in Kerala. It narrates the extraordinary story of a young woman’s mysterious death that occurred in the village of Paleri during the late 1950s, named Manikyam.
Instead, the investigation stalled for decades without resolution. That changed 52 years later when a detective who happened to be born on the same day as the murdered woman returned to his hometown Manikyam. His mission: to solve the murder and expose the cruel actions of a powerful feudal lord named Ahmed Haji.
In the movie, Mammootty assumes three distinct characters: a detective, a feudal ruler, and their offspring. Accompanying the megastar, this film also showcased actors such as Mythili, Shweta Menon, Gowri Munjal, Sreenivasan, Siddique, Vijayan V. Nair, T. Damodaran, Suresh Krishna, and numerous others in crucial roles.
Moving onto Mammootty’s professional life, the actor recently appeared this year in the film Turbo, helmed by Vysakh. This Malayalam language action-comedy was scripted by Midhun Manuel Thomas and revolves around a jeep driver from Idukki who unintentionally ends up in Chennai, finding himself in the midst of a feared gangster’s troubles.
In addition to Raj B. Shetty, the cast included Sunil, Kabir Duhan Singh, Anjana Jayaprakash, Niranjana Anoop, Bindu Panicker, and several others in significant roles. This film was launched on May 23rd, earning a mix of positive and negative feedback from critics.
As a lifestyle expert, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll soon be gracing the screen in two exciting projects! Firstly, I’ve been cast in “Bazooka,” a heart-pounding thriller directed by the promising newcomer, Deeno Dennis.
