As a seasoned gamer with over two decades of experience under my belt, I must admit that Palworld had me hooked from the get-go. The sheer nostalgia it evoked was unparalleled, reminding me of the good old days of capturing Pokémon on my Game Boy Color. However, despite the initial excitement, the game has lost some steam for me. The June update didn’t quite reel me back in as I had hoped.
2024 saw Palworld as one of the year’s largest gaming sensations, boasting a record-breaking third-highest number of concurrent players on Steam at one point. In January alone, a staggering 2 million gamers were immersed in this survival game that resembles Pokémon simultaneously!
Let The Lawyers Cook
On September 18, 2024, both The Pokémon Company and Nintendo filed a lawsuit alleging patent infringement against the creators of Palworld. Remarkably, it appears that the developers of Palworld unintentionally provided a blueprint for creating an excellent Pokémon-like game. However, given the striking similarities between the creatures in Palworld and those found in the Pokémon universe, it’s not surprising that The Pokémon Company is determined to seek justice.
Are still playing Palworld, or did you move on?
