As a Tamil cinema enthusiast who has witnessed the evolution of our beloved stars since the early 2000s, seeing this throwback picture of Vijay, Vikram, and Suriya together brings back a flood of memories. It’s like stepping into a time machine and being transported back to the days when Mounam Pesiyadhe graced our screens.

Thalapathy Vijay, Chiyaan Vikram, and Suriya are three hugely influential stars in Tamil films who have spent many years in the industry. In a seldom-seen photo, we got to see these three actors uniting for the prayer ceremony of Suriya’s movie, Mounam Pesiyadhe.

In a nostalgic photo posted by Christopher Kanagaraj on X (previously Twitter), there’s a gathering of the three renowned personalities. Besides them, director-performer Ameer and actor Sivakumar, who is Suriya’s father, were also in attendance.

Back in the year 2002, I stumbled upon this captivating photograph – it’s now over two decades old! That timeless masterpiece is none other than “Mounam Pesiyadhe,” a film directed by the brilliant Ameer. This was his debut in cinema, and he crafted an enchanting narrative that intertwined romance and drama, leaving a lasting impact on countless fans like me.

In this film, Suriya played the character of Gautham, a restaurant proprietor who finds himself smitten by his childhood friend Kannan’s cousin. Yet, complications arise when Kannan’s parents insist on arranging a marriage between their son and his cousin, despite Kannan being in love with someone else.

In simpler terms, the movie represented Trisha Krishnan’s first major role following her brief appearance in Jodi. Furthermore, the movie boasted an impressive lineup of actors such as Nandha, Neha Pendse, Anju Mahendra, Duraipandi, Vaidyanathan, V. C. Venkatesh, and others in significant roles. The film also featured Laila in a special guest appearance.

The movie was a hit at the box office many years ago and was later remade into Telugu in 2003 as “Aadanthe Ado.” Interestingly, seeing all three actors together is quite a spectacle, particularly when you consider that Suriya has worked with both of them throughout his career.

On the professional side of things for Thalapathy Vijay, he recently appeared in a movie known as “The Greatest Of All Time,” or simply “The GOAT.” Now that the actor is stepping into full-time politics, he has declared his upcoming film, tentatively titled “Thalapathy 69,” to be his potential last one. This project will be helmed by director H Vinoth.

Meanwhile, you might recall Chiyaan Vikram’s recent appearance in Thangalaan, helmed by Pa Ranjith. His next project is taking on the lead role in Veera Dheera Sooran. Additionally, Suriya is preparing for the launch of his movie titled Kanguva.
