As someone who has long admired Sean “Diddy” Combs for his business acumen and cultural impact, I must express my deep disappointment and disillusionment upon learning about the allegations against him. The details emerging from this case are truly shocking and disturbing, painting a picture of behavior that is abhorrent and inexcusable.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’ve been hearing a lot of buzz lately about what “freak off” means, especially in relation to Sean “Diddy” Combs following his arrest in New York. During a news conference on September 17, Damian Williams, the US Attorney for New York’s Southern District, shared details from an unsealed federal indictment against Combs and used the term “freak off” quite a few times. It seems that several lawsuits filed by different individuals against the hip hop icon in 2024, including one by his former girlfriend Cassie Ventura, shed some light on what these so-called “Freak Offs” entail.
What would happen at a Diddy “Freak Off”?
A “Freak Off” or “FO” is a term often associated with the alleged sex parties organized by Diddy. According to the accusations, these parties were situations where he supposedly compelled participants to join when he felt frustrated or unhappy.
Additionally, he elaborates on these prolonged sexual activities, according to CNN, as “prolonged intimate acts” that could potentially continue for days. His victims were reportedly compelled to participate with male sex workers in the commercial sector. It is claimed that Combs frequently recorded these encounters on electronic devices and used these recordings as leverage over the victims.
Reportedly, these gatherings frequently featured substances like ketamine, ecstasy, and GHB. The reason for this was to ensure that the participants remained under control and cooperative.
The information regarding the incidents labeled “unusual separations” aligns with the lawsuit submitted by Cassie Ventura in November 2023. These records contain descriptions of an alleged event known as a “Freak Off,” where Combs is said to have instructed Ventura to perform sexual acts with an unspecified individual while he observed.
The lawsuit further claims that at certain stages of their relationship, Combs allegedly proposed a weekly “FO” meeting to Ventura. These “FOs” reportedly occurred in numerous international hotels across cities such as New York City, Los Angeles, Miami, and beyond. Ventura’s legal matter was resolved the very next day after it was filed.
Sean Combs has been charged with racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. He is expected to appear in court at 11:30 pm PT / 2:30 pm ET on September 17.
A documentary about the downfall of Diddy produced by rapper 50 Cent is set to release on Netflix.
