As a gamer with a soft spot for Transformers and an even softer spot for origin stories, the release of the final trailer for Transformers One has me buzzing like Optimus Prime himself! Growing up, I was always captivated by the rivalry between Optimus and Megatron, but never truly understood their origins. This animated prequel promises to fill in those blanks, and with a star-studded cast featuring the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, and Steve Buscemi, I can’t help but feel that this is going to be one epic tale.


Paramount Pictures has released the final trailer for Transformers One.

In simple terms, the forthcoming animated movie provides an account of how Optimus Prime and Megatron became arch-enemies, tracing back their history and the events that sparked their longstanding feud.

What Happens in Transformers One Final Trailer?

Prior to Optimus Prime and Megatron, there existed Orion Pax and D-16. These two were inseparable friends until an unexpected event altered the trajectory of their lives.

“The summary for this movie tells us that Transformers One is about the unspoken past of Optimus Prime and Megatron, who used to be close friends as brothers, but whose actions on Cybertron would ultimately seal their enmity forever.

In this reimagined version of Transformers, Chris Hemsworth takes on the role of Orion Pax/Optimus Prime, Brian Tyree Henry plays D-16/Megatron, Scarlett Johansson portrays Elita-1, Keegan-Michael Key becomes B-127/Bumblebee, Steve Buscemi voices Starscream, Laurence Fishburne is Alpha Trion, and Jon Hamm steps into the character of Sentinel Prime.

Josh Cooley takes the helm for Transformers: One, a movie penned by Eric Pearson, Andrew Barrer, and Gabriel Ferrari. The production team includes Don Murphy, Tom DeSanto, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Michael Bay, Mark Vahradian, and Aaron DeM. Steven Spielberg, Zev Foreman, Olivier Dumont, Bradley J. Fischer, B.J. Farmer, and Matt Quigg serve as executive producers for this project.

In terms of animation, the first theatrical film from the Transformers franchise since “The Transformers: The Movie” was “Transformers One”. After a gap of five years, live-action Transformers movies resumed in 2023 with the release of “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts”.

Transformers One opens in theaters on September 20, 2024.
