As a longtime WWE enthusiast with years of memories etched into my wrestling-loving mind, I must say that the potential tag team partnership between Jey Uso and Sami Zayn has me genuinely excited! The dynamic duo’s on-screen animosity was always captivating, but their genuine bond backstage added an extra layer of intrigue.
WWE star Jey Uso is considering creating a new tag team outside of his sibling, Jimmy Uso. For quite some time, the Usos – Jey and Jimmy – have been vital members of the WWE tag team division. Their partnership dates back to 2009, and they’ve garnered substantial success in the promotion throughout their tenure.
They’ve won the WWE Tag Team Championship a total of eight times, and they also hold the record for the longest title reign at an impressive 622 days. But things changed drastically when they became part of The Bloodline, a group headed by Roman Reigns.
Over the past few years, the Bloodline narrative has taken center stage in WWE broadcasting, emphasizing Reigns’ reign and the internal disputes within the group. The rivalry between the siblings sparked at SummerSlam when Jimmy’s intervention disrupted Jey’s WWE Championship bout against Roman Reigns.
In spite of tough times within The Bloodline that ultimately caused the brothers’ split, Jey Uso forged an exceptional and robust relationship with another member of The Bloodline: the Honorary Uce, Sami Zayn. It appears that Jey is now contemplating teaming up with Sami Zayn as a tag team.
Jey Uso aims for tag team partnership with Sami Zayn
Previously associated with Bloodline, Jey Uso recently discussed with Metro.co.uk the possibility of teaming up with Sami Zayn. Looking back at their history together, he acknowledged the tension between them on-screen, but emphasized that off-camera, they had a genuine connection.
He expressed, “Off-screen, we had a deep affection for one another despite our on-screen rivalry. However, this didn’t translate well on TV. Nevertheless, it felt very natural. You may catch brief glimpses of me and him on Raw, but I truly yearn to team up with him in a full tag team setup. My most memorable moments in wrestling were shared with Sami Zayn, as part of the Bloodline.
For more than a year, Jey Uso has been apart from his brother Jimmy Uso, but during this time, he’s managed to win tag team titles with Cody Rhodes. Even so, many fans remember the captivating on-screen relationships between Jey and Sami Zayn. With that in mind, it will be intriguing to find out if WWE intends to bring these two back together in the future.
