In 2022, Marín revealed that he had battled a bacterial illness for numerous years. He experienced bouts of pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital on more than one occasion prior to undergoing a double lung transplant.

According to Infobae’s report, Marin contracted an infection from the bacterium Clostridium difficile in 2020, which eventually impacted his lung tissue. The same source indicates that Marin’s death was due to complications that arose during his recovery process following surgery.

At 14 years old, Marín kick-started his journalism journey by working as a production assistant at the discontinued TV network Imevsión. Later on, he moved to TV Azteca and then to Fox Sports Mexico in 2011, where he presented La Última Palabra. He eventually decided to leave Fox for TUDN.
