When is the Cuckoo digital & Blu-ray release date?

Excitedly counting down the days, I can’t hide my anticipation as I mark my calendar for September 17, 2024. That’s when “The Cuckoo” digital version hits the screens, ready for both purchase and rental! If you’re like me and prefer physical copies, hold on a little longer; October 22, 2024, is the date set for the Blu-ray release. Can’t wait to immerse myself in this cinematic masterpiece!

As per Neon’s announcement, the Blu-ray and DVD editions of the movie will include additional cut scenes, exclusive behind-the-scenes clips, and conversations with Schafer.

The movie “Cuckoo” was both written and directed by the German filmmaker Tilman Singer, who filmed it using 35mm. In addition to Schafer and Stevens, the film also features Jessica Henwick, Marton Csókás, Greta Fernández, Jan Bluthardt, Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey, and others in its starring roles.

In the plot summary, 17-year-old Gretchen reluctantly departs from her U.S. home to join her father who’s settled in an Alpine resort in Germany with his new family. Upon arrival at their dwelling, they are welcomed by Mr. König, her father’s superior, who shows a peculiar fascination towards Gretchen’s mute half-sister Alma. An uneasy feeling arises in this seemingly peaceful holiday haven as Gretchen experiences mysterious sounds and gory hallucinations. As she digs deeper, she uncovers a startling truth that also involves her own kin.

The movie is overseen by Neon’s Tom Quinn, Jeff Deutchman, Emily Thomas, and Ryan Friscia in their executive producer roles. Markus Halberschmidt, Josh Rosenbaum, Maria Tsigka, Ken Kao, Thor Bradwell, and Ben Rimmer are the individuals responsible for producing it.
