As a devoted Outlander fan who has journeyed through time and space with the MacKenzie clan for seasons, I must say that the ongoing saga of Brianna and Roger in Season 7B is keeping me on the edge of my seat! The mystery of Jemmy’s whereabouts has been a rollercoaster ride, and it seems that our beloved time-traveling duo may have jumped the gun with their assumptions about Jemmy being in 1768.
In the latter half of Outlander Season 7, there’s a whirlwind of events unfolding. As for Brianna and Roger, their storyline finds them torn apart by time. Specifically, Roger is stuck in the past on a mission to locate young Jemmy MacKenzie, but the big question remains: Where is Jemmy hiding?

Towards the close of Outlander Season 7A, Rob Cameron abducted Jemmy. This was because Rob discovered that Jemmy knew the location of some gold. However, this knowledge would require them to travel through time, which led the MacKenzies to the stones. There, Roger and Buck were prepared to step back in time to rescue Jemmy.
They believe that Jemmy exists in the year 1768, which is when Buck originates. This is the reason behind Buck accompanying Roger. However, it’s later discovered that there’s more to the situation than initially thought.
Jemmy MacKenzie isn’t in the past in Outlander Season 7B
In the novel titled “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood“, we learn about the fate of Jemmy. Unlike what one might expect, Rob did not transport him into the past; instead, it seems that time travel is beyond his capabilities. Instead, Rob brought Jemmy to the location where he works. Remarkably, Jemmy managed to escape with the help of a story shared by his mother about her own ordeal: being locked up there and finding a way out by recalling her past experiences.
Mandy notices that Jemmy is present at the same moment as themselves. They and Brianna locate him, but now they’re struggling to communicate with Roger since he’s from the past. However, reaching out to him under those circumstances seems rather difficult.
Recognizing that Lallybroch isn’t safe for her, Brianna gathers her kids and embarks on a journey to America initially. As she ponders her next steps, Brianna eventually uncovers where Roger is located in the past.
I’m thrilled to hear that Jemmy is safe and back with his mom! It’s exciting to anticipate their reunion in ‘Outlander’ Season 7B. However, it remains a mystery whether we’ll get to witness Roger reuniting with his family in the same season or if we’ll have to hold on until Season 8.
