As an ardent Outlander fan, I can’t help but share the exciting news that Geillis and Dougal will grace our screens once again in Season 7B! Some tantalizing glimpses have already been released, one of which hints at a reunion between these two intriguing characters. However, I find myself wondering about the time period in which their scenes will unfold. Can’t wait to uncover more secrets as the story continues to unfold!

Learning that Geillis and Dougal would appear in Outlander Season 7 implies a return to the past is imminent. Regardless of whether we’re referring to their roles in the 18th or 20th century narratives, these characters are no longer alive.
Indeed, it’s possible that they might appear as spirits. However, it’s evidently not happening in the latest pictures. In these images, we find Geillis and Dougal in each other’s company, and it appears as though this is their first encounter.
Roger heads back to the wrong time in Outlander
In the storyline of Geillis and Dougal from Outlander, their journey is linked to Roger and Buck. At the end of Season 7A, they passed through the stones with the intention of reaching Buck’s era, as they believed Rob Cameron had taken Jem there. However, it was revealed that they actually traveled a bit earlier in time instead.
In “Written in My Own Heart’s Blood,” they travel to the year 1739. This is due to the presence of a separate Jeremiah MacKenzie in that time, which means the stones have not yet become fully unpredictable in their temporal displacement.
At about this point, Dougal and Geillis became acquainted with each other. As we know, Geillis was living somewhere around the late 1730s. In the novels, it is revealed that she initially resided in a rural cottage, but this dwelling was later destroyed, leading to her being labeled as a witch. Eventually, she moved on to Cranesmuir. By 1739, Geillis had already settled in Cranesmuir, embarking on her mission to restore the Stuart dynasty to the throne.
In the countryside scenes, Dougal is noticeably absent from Geillis in Cranesmuir. The show has an opportunity to present something fresh by not being confined to the perspective of the storyteller’s character. This opening could provide a glimpse into how Dougal encounters Geillis as she establishes herself in Cranesmuir. Naturally, their shared goals would ignite sparks between them.
