Tim Robinson Comedy Series The Chair Company Scores Full Series Order From HBO

As a seasoned gamer with over 30 years of experience under my belt, I must say that the news about Tim Robinson’s new comedy series, The Chair Company, has me genuinely excited! With his extensive background in sketch comedy and a proven track record on Netflix and Comedy Central, it’s clear that this guy knows how to deliver some top-notch humor.

Tim Robinson’s new comedy series, The Chair Company, has been given a series order from HBO.

In the month of April, 2024, production company HBO gave approval for a thirty-minute pilot episode of “The Chair Company,” a fresh comedy series. This series will feature Robinson in the lead role, and interestingly, Robinson is also involved in the writing and executive production aspects of this show alongside Zach Kanin.

Currently, HBO has officially confirmed that The Chair Company will be airing a complete series. However, the exact release date is still undisclosed.

What is Tim Robinson’s The Chair Company about?

Following an awkward workplace situation, Robinson discovers himself delving into a vast, mysterious plot.

As a die-hard fan, I had the pleasure of witnessing Andrew DeYoung’s exceptional direction in the pilot episode of The Chair Company. Not only did DeYoung take the helm, but he also joined forces with Robinson and Kanin, as well as Adam McKay, Todd Schulman, and me, serving as executive producers for this remarkable production.

In addition to Robinson, the main cast includes Lake Bell portraying Barb Trosper, Sophia Lillis taking on the role of Natalie Trosper, Will Price playing Seth Trosper, and Joseph Tudisco acting as Mike Santini. Lou Diamond Phillips made a special appearance in the first episode as Jeff Levjman.

Robinson and Kanin expressed their enthusiasm and gratitude in a statement for being given the opportunity to produce this series together with HBO, HyperObject, and an exceptional team of actors and production staff who have contributed significantly to its creation.

Robinson and Kanin primarily gained recognition for producing the Netflix sketch comedy series “I Think You Should Leave” featuring Tim Robinson. Additionally, they collaborated with Sam Richardson and Joe Kelly on the Comedy Central show “Detroiters.” During his career, Robinson was a member of the Saturday Night Live cast from 2012 to 2016 as well.

Robinson’s list of films includes Brother Nature (2016), An American Pickle (2020), Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers from 2022, where he lent his voice to Ugly Sonic, and Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm, also released in 2022. He made a brief, unacknowledged appearance in Scream VI (2023). His upcoming projects include Friendship, a newly premiered comedy movie at the Toronto International Film Festival, where he stars alongside Paul Rudd.
