As a long-time fan of Emily in Paris, I must admit that Alfie’s storyline in season 4 part 2 was a pleasant surprise. After witnessing his heartbreak at Gabriel and Camille’s almost-wedding, it was refreshing to see him move on and find happiness.
In the first part of season 4 of “Emily in Paris,” Alfie found himself in a less favorable position. Despite being upset and hurt following the events at Gabriel and Camille’s near-wedding, he continued to harbor feelings for Emily and sought to mend their relationship. However, his efforts to reignite their romance were overshadowed by Emily’s feelings for Gabriel. To put it simply, Alfie will never forget that masquerade party where things took a turn for the worse.
As we dive into Season 4 Part 2 of “Emily in Paris,” a key question arises: What role will Alfie play in the storyline ahead? This uncertainty stems from Emily’s decision to pursue a relationship with Gabriel, a choice she didn’t share with Alfie. Now officially involved with Gabriel, Emily raises questions about where this leaves Alfie. With Marcello also entering the picture, it becomes even more intriguing: Will Alfie continue to pine for Emily or will he find closure and move on?
When the second part of “Emily in Paris” season 4 debuted on Netflix on September 12, some key questions were addressed in the festive opening episode set at Christmas time. However, it might not have been exactly what you hoped or anticipated. Let’s delve into how Alfie’s story unfolds for the rest of season 4.

Alfie has a new girlfriend in Emily in Paris season 4 part 2
After a disappointing Christmas ski trip with Gabriel, Camille, and her family in Megève, which ended with Emily returning to Paris, she unexpectedly encounters Alfie upon her return to the city. He was the very first person she saw upon her homecoming, and it seemed to her as if it were a fortuitous, possibly romantic coincidence.
I was secretly hoping our unexpected encounter might lead somewhere interesting, but my spirits sank when Alfie told me he was heading to Christmas mass with his girlfriend and her family.
Before he shares that revelation that hits her like a ton of bricks, she tells him that she and Gabriel broke up. He extends his support and reveals that he’s finally falling in love with Paris. “It just fits,” as he says. Emily invites him to Mindy’s Christmas party, but that’s when the news drops and he puts up the boundary. He’s moved on with someone new. You can see that Emily’s realization that the other man she loved moving on isn’t an easy pill to swallow.
Despite your enthusiasm about Alfie’s girlfriend, keep in mind that we don’t get to encounter this elusive lady in ‘Emily in Paris’ season 4 part 2. The only other significant scene involving Alfie is during the season 4 finale when he, Gabriel, and Antoine rejoice over Gabriel earning his Michelin star. Interestingly, it’s Alfie who encourages Gabriel to pursue Emily in Rome, as she’s now relocated there and is involved with Marcello. So, don’t be surprised if Alfie ends up being the catalyst for Gabriel trying to win Emily back.
Although Alfie only made brief appearances during season 4, there’s speculation about his potential involvement if Netflix decides to renew the series for season 5. Given that Lucien Laviscount wasn’t a regular cast member in season 4, it seems unlikely he’d return as a main character in a possible fifth season. However, fans adore him, so bringing him back for a guest role might be appealing. One intriguing possibility is Alfie and his girlfriend getting married, which could send Emily into another emotional whirlwind. Such a storyline could provide some comic relief!
Regardless of the circumstances, here’s to Alfie for discovering a relationship that appears simpler than his love triangle with Emily. It’s wonderful to witness a beloved character in a joyful and flourishing state!
