As a seasoned gamer and tech enthusiast with a knack for sniffing out scams, I can confidently say that the crypto scam during the iPhone 16 event was as obvious as a neon sign in the daylight. The AI-generated Tim Cook’s performance was so lackluster, it made Jabba the Hutt look like Meryl Streep.
Everyone was hyped about the announcement of the new iPhone 16, but crypto scammers took advantage of that hype for their own good.
Fake Tim Cook Wants You To Go Into Crypto
As Apple unveiled the iPhone 16 through a YouTube live broadcast, fraudulent crypto scammers inundated YouTube with bogus live streams impersonating Apple.
It appears that the Apple US YouTube channel might have been compromised, with a fabricated AI video of Tim Cook supposedly broadcasting and requesting Bitcoin donations. This incident seems to be related to the Apple Event.

As a dedicated admirer, I must clarify that in some supposed live broadcasts, an AI-crafted persona of Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO, invited viewers to transfer their Bitcoin, Dogecoin, Ether, and Tether to a specific address. The intriguing promise was that Apple would then double the amount sent back as a generous giveaway. However, I must emphasize that this is not an authentic communication from Apple or Tim Cook himself.
That sounds like Apple, doesn’t it?
How Did They Fall For This?
It’s hard to comprehend why individuals were deceived by this, given that the artificial intelligence-produced flow displayed clear signs: specifically, there were two unmistakable hints that it was not human-made.
- The fake Apple channel only had 194k followers, where the official channel has almost 20 million.
- The description of the livestream was just a collection of buzzwords.
Please don’t be this gullible yourself.
