Caught Stealing Cast: Daredevil’s Vincent D’Onofrio Joins Austin Butler Crime Thriller

As a fan who’s been around the block more times than I care to remember, let me tell you, the news about Vincent D’Onofrio joining the cast of “Caught Stealing” has me all a-tingle! The man is a master of his craft, and his return to the big screen after his much-anticipated comeback as Kingpin in Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again is like a feast for the eyes.

Emmy-nominated actor Vincent D’Onofrio has been selected to be part of the cast for the crime thriller “Caught Stealing,” produced by Sony Pictures and directed by Darren Aronofsky.

In the upcoming movie, actor D’Onofrio has been chosen for a secondary part. Specifics about his character are still being kept secret. This announcement precedes his much-awaited reprisal as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Marvel Studio’s Daredevil: Born Again remake. This new installment will bring his sinister character face to face with Charlie Cox’s title character once again. The series is projected to premiere in March 2025.

Who is in the Caught Stealing cast?

In a new project titled “Caught Stealing,” Austin Butler (known for his roles in Elvis and Dune: Part Two) will take the lead as Hank Thompson, a weary former baseball player who has retired. Joining him is an impressive ensemble including Zoë Kravitz (“The Batman”), Regina King (“If Beale Street Could Talk”), Matt Smith (“The Crown”), Liev Schreiber, and Bad Bunny, among others. Aronofsky will direct and produce the film, with the screenplay adapted from Charlie Huston’s 2004 novel of the same name. “Caught Stealing” is produced by Ari Handel’s Protozoa.

The official summary of the book goes like this: “Once a California baseball player, Henry ‘call me Hank’ Thompson now manages a bar on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. A brutal attack by two Russians in tracksuits suggests that someone is after him, though he has no idea what they want, where it is, or how to communicate that he doesn’t possess it. In the next 24 hours, Hank finds himself navigating rooftops, evading the NYPD, traveling the subway with a deceased companion, and counting a large sum of money on a hard floor. All this happens due to some Russian thugs and an assortment of eccentric troublemakers. It all starts because, in another time, Hank’s greatest desire was to steal third base without getting caught.
