Originally aiming to be a doctor, Krithi Shetty instead followed her heart and chose acting as her career path. Although her first role was in a Hindi movie, it was her part in the Telugu blockbuster film Uppena that brought her widespread recognition. This film also starred Vijay Sethupathi prominently. Interestingly, Krithi Shetty was only 17 years old when she made her debut in the world of acting.

Krithi Shetty was born in Mangalore but grew up in Mumbai. After finishing her school education, she initially chose to study MBBS with the dream of becoming a doctor. Yet, she found herself drawn towards psychology and modeling, which led her to shift from medicine. Over time, she landed modeling assignments for brands such as Lifebuoy and others.
In the movie Uppena, she secured the main character, even though she’s quite young. Before that, you might recognize her from a minor role in the film Super 30 featuring Hrithik Roshan.
Krithi Shetty’s breakthrough role
2021 marked the acting debut of Krithi Shetty with the movie titled “Uppena.” In this production, she portrayed the character Sangeetha opposite Panjaa Vaisshnav Tej. The film was skillfully directed by Buchi Babu Sana and was produced under the prestigious banner Mythri Movie Makers. The movie turned out to be a massive success, earning more than Rs 100 crore at the box office, thereby significantly boosting Krithi’s growing stardom at such a young age.
At seventeen years old, she managed to captivate audiences and win their affections. After the triumph of Uppena, Krithi swiftly rose to fame and starred in successful films such as Shyam Singha Roy and Bangarraju, both featuring Nagarjuna as the leading man.
Krithi Shetty’s upcoming films
Actress Krithi Shetty is looking forward to several upcoming films, set for release in 2024 and 2025. Most recently, she starred alongside Sharwanand in Manamey. Now, she’s preparing for her debut in Malayalam cinema with Ajayante Randam Moshanam, where she will work with Tovino Thomas. Furthermore, Krithi will be seen in Vignesh Shivan’s LIK: Love Insurance Kompany and Genie alongside Jayam Ravi.
