So, when Astro Bot burst onto the scene, it was a breath of fresh air. The game’s charm, coupled with its innovative use of the DualSense controller, made it an instant classic in my book.
Initially, the introductory game titled “Astro’s Playroom” in the Astro series arrived pre-installed on every PS5 console, serving as both a tutorial and a demonstration of the controller’s capabilities. The game garnered immense popularity, leading Sony to commission Team Asobi to develop a standalone version of it.
Astro Bot, a highly acclaimed game launched in September with an impressive score of 94 on Metacritic, has now got some exciting news for its fans. Team Asobi has officially confirmed that they will be releasing additional content as free downloadable content towards the end of this year.

During a chat with Quest Daily, the Studio Director of Team Asobi, Nicolas Doucet, revealed some details about what lies ahead for Astro Bot after its triumphant debut.
The upcoming free upgrade is set to reinstate the rapid-play levels, specifically tailored for repeated playthroughs with a focus on improving performance.
Additionally, you can expect the arrival of fresh VIP Bots, modeled after popular characters from different games such as Kratos from God of War and Snake from Metal Gear Solid.
As a thrilled follower, I can’t help but share the exciting tidbit that Nicolas Doucet referred to this as a complimentary upgrade instead of a DLC, meaning it won’t be loaded with an overwhelming amount of content. Yet, this piece of information undeniably brings joy to my gaming heart!
