How Did Roman Reigns Respond to John Cena’s ‘The Goat’ Remark?

As a long-time WWE fan with a deep appreciation for the history of the sport, I can’t help but feel a sense of awe at the recent exchange between John Cena and Roman Reigns. Having watched both these titans from their early days to their current roles, it’s truly remarkable to see the evolution of WWE’s landscape under their leadership.

16-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena has lately shared insightful comments regarding WWE’s current leading talent, Roman Reigns. Prior to Reigns taking the helm, Cena essentially supported WWE for more than ten years.

Between 2005 and 2015, John Cena was a dominant force in WWE, often shouldering the responsibility of the promotion. He became one of the most iconic WWE stars ever, with his impact shaping much of the company’s modern era and securing him a place among the greatest of all time. Starting from 2016, however, Cena shifted to a more part-time role, allowing Roman Reigns to take center stage.

As a passionate gamer, let me share some exciting news from the wrestling world. In a recent chat on Club Shay Shay, my hero John Cena gave a big shout-out to former WWE Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns, calling him the greatest of all time (GOAT)! He backed up his endorsement by pointing out that ever since Reigns took over as the main guy for the promotion, the value of WWE’s stock has skyrocketed. Now, Reigns himself has finally reacted to Cena’s high praise, and it’s making waves in the wrestling community!

Roman Reigns on John Cena’s remark: “The numbers don’t lie”

At a recent gathering organized by Bloomberg’s Power Players in New York, Roman Reigns had a chat with his partner Paul Heyman. In this dialogue, Reigns responded to John Cena’s recent compliments. Reigns conceded that while there are quantifiable yardsticks for achievement, the subjective aspects of success also play an important role.

He stated, “The numbers don’t lie. I wish I could say, ‘I’m Taylor Swift out there,’ but we have a great team. I have a Wiseman. Business has been really good. It’s one of those weird situations. This is where I would normally be like, ‘Paul, brag about me.’ At the end of the day, it’s subjective. There are some objective metrics involved that we can measure. If there’s 60 people over here that are like, ‘No, Roman Reigns is the GOAT.’ Then there’s two people who go, ‘No way. The Undertaker is the Greatest of All Time.’ How do you argue with those two people that believe in their soul that the Undertaker is?”

He went on to say, “The unique aspect of our work is both its quirkiness and charm – it’s where facts and feelings intertwine. It can essentially represent whatever you personally believe it to be. If you’re genuinely invested in a WWE superstar, I think you have the justification to declare them the greatest of all time, from your perspective. As for what John stated, I’ve had the opportunity to see and understand his initial reign as the top WWE figure and company ambassador. There’s no one better equipped to discuss everything required to reach that level and enter that discussion. Ultimately, I find myself in agreement with him.

From a passionate fan’s perspective, Roman Reigns’ ascent has been nothing short of remarkable, transforming WWE into something new and exciting with him at the helm as the promotion’s leading figure. With nearly a decade under his belt and more years to come, it’s intriguing to speculate who will emerge to continue his legacy when the time comes for him to pass on the torch.
