Vision Cast Adds Todd Stashwick to MCU Disney+ Series

As a longtime Marvel fan who’s seen more than my fair share of comic book movies, I can’t help but feel a thrill of anticipation when I hear about Todd Stashwick joining the cast of the untitled Vision series on Disney+. The man has proven his acting chops in Star Trek: Picard, and now he gets to work with Terry Matalas again, who was the former showrunner for that very same series!

The scope of the vision for the upcoming project is broadening, as reported by THR, with Todd Stashwick from Star Trek: Picard being added to the yet-to-be-named Disney+ series.

Currently, the identity of the character played by Stashwick remains undisclosed, however, his arrival on the show marks a reunion with Terry Matalas, who was once in charge of Star Trek: Picard and is now overseeing the production of The Vision series.

For quite a while, Marvel has been working on different phases of development for the Vision series. Earlier, this project was being handled by Jac Schaefer, who is also the creator of WandaVision. Now, Schaefer is focusing on the upcoming spin-off of WandaVision titled Agatha All Along, which is set to debut on September 18, 2024.

Who else is in the Vision cast?

In the lineup, Stashwick will be part of a team featuring Paul Bettany, who’s coming back to play Vision from previous Marvel movies, and James Spader, who is set to reprise his role as Ultron, the intelligent AI character that debuted in Avengers: Age of Ultron.

In the movie “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” the AI J.A.R.V.I.S., with a vibranium body and an infusion from the Mind Stone, transformed into the superhero known as Vision. Paul Bettany took on this role in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War and 2018’s Avengers: Infinity War, where Vision ultimately met his demise at the hands of Thanos.

As a gamer diving into the world of WandaVision, I found myself fascinated by two distinct incarnations of Vision. One, crafted by the sorceress Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen), was more of a spectral illusion, while the other was an android reborn, devoid of his former memories.

According to an article from Variety, the upcoming series is set to unfold following those incidents, with Ghost Vision apparently seeking to understand his latest role in life.
