The Hideout is the be-all and end-all of your Escape from Tarkov career. Not only is it a very lucrative time sink, it’s also a great way to ease your burden while trying to escape from Tarkov. Here you can craft various equipables and consumables as well as quest items and materials needed to further expand your hideout. Once you’ve expanded a little you can even use it to heal up between raids or train certain skills. In this guide, we’ll teach you everything you need to know about the Hideout and how to expand it.
Knowing where things are is half the battle
Setting up your secret base without first visiting the Flea Market is quite a challenge. Not only do you need to search, gather, and seize every toolbox, concealed stash, or desk, but you also have to survive the process. Locations such as Customs, Interchange, and Factory provide ample resources and are often more profitable when played as a Scav (Scavenger)
As a Scav, you’re jumping into an ongoing mission and seizing control of one of the AI-controlled enemies. Since many high-value items have likely been picked up by other players, you’ll find fewer competitors for loot. This gives you ample opportunity to gather resources at your leisure. Since many players focus on larger, more valuable objects, less attention is given to materials, making them an often overlooked treasure trove
Once you hit the Flea Market, the work begins
) You can only start working on customizing your hideout once you get to the player-managed Flea Market. In some cases, we didn’t discover a single AWL before hitting level 15 during wipes. However, it is still beneficial to gather everything and sell it in the Flea Market to accumulate funds for the materials required for your hideout upgrades
As an ardent enthusiast of Escape from Tarkov, expanding my stash should be my utmost concern, particularly if I don’t own one of the special editions. It’s a costly endeavor that demands a lot of resources, but having a bit more storage space can significantly simplify my gaming experience. Later on, I look forward to constructing a weapons rack and a dressing room, enabling me to keep my weapons and equipment organized without the need for additional containers
The Cultist Circle, which can be built fairly early, should also be on your priority list. Once it’s constructed, you can offer valuable items from your stash in exchange for rare materials and even items needed for quests. In the early goings of your progress, you should focus on the workbench and your amenities. The Lavatory, Water Collection, Medstation, Nutrition Unit, Heating, and Rest Space are all useful in their own way, be it to craft consumables like healing items or food or to just passively heal up in between raids.
At level 15, it’s mostly possible for you to purchase needed materials from the Flea Market. However, the cost can sometimes seem excessive, but it’s preferable to continuing the struggle
