As a seasoned true crime enthusiast who has spent countless hours poring over unsolved mysteries and cold cases, I must say that the upcoming Netflix docuseries, “This is the Zodiac Speaking,” has piqued my interest like no other. Having delved into the chilling tales of serial killers for years, I’ve become somewhat desensitized to the horrors they inflicted upon their victims and society at large. However, the enigma that is the Zodiac Killer continues to baffle and intrigue me.
Judging by the title of this documentary series, you likely already have an idea of its subject matter. Between 1968 and 1969, this elusive figure was responsible for a series of murders in Northern California. In the upcoming Netflix docuseries, titled “This is the Zodiac Speaking,” produced by Ample Entertainment and led by Ari Mark and Phil Lott, viewers can expect to uncover fresh insights about the still-unsolved Zodiac Killer case. Featuring new interviews and clues, this series appears to strengthen the theory that Arthur Leigh Allen was the true culprit. Allen, a former sex offender and the only Zodiac suspect publicly acknowledged by police, passed away in 1992
The documentary series will include talks with some of Allen’s past students and acquaintances, including footage of his former students presenting evidence from archives and physical items that seem to implicate Allen in the Zodiac murders. Additionally, Lott and Mark consulted with Robert Graysmith, author of the books serving as the foundation for the 2007 mystery thriller “Zodiac,” to aid in the production of the documentary. They shared with Variety that Graysmith provided valuable insights, helping them understand the Zodiac Killer case more thoroughly

A lot of this material is brand new. It hasn’t been seen before because when [Allen] died, there was no more investigation from a law enforcement perspective. So there’s no one really to send it to. So we got to look at all those letters and read the crazy, very incriminating material.
