This week, it’s possible that Darshan Thoogudeepa, currently detained on suspicion of murdering Renuka Swamy, will face additional charges. According to a report in The New Indian Express, a senior police official has revealed they are preparing a robust chargesheet. Moreover, the officer mentioned that the investigative team responsible for the Renuka Swamy murder case is expected to submit this crucial document this week.
After gathering some reports, particularly forensic ones, the investigation team intends to submit a chargesheet in court. Notably, it’s been stated that the forensic report has indeed found Renuka Swamy’s blood on the clothes of the six accused individuals. Furthermore, during their arrest, items such as clothing, footwear, and various leather goods belonging to the six suspects at the time of the incident were retrieved from their respective homes.
According to an article in The New Indian Express, the police have amassed approximately 200 critical items of evidence that are expected to fortify their case. Moreover, the autopsy report suggests the victim succumbed to shock and bleeding caused by numerous blunt wounds.
On Thursday morning (August 30), the Kannada actor was moved to Bellary Jail. This decision was made following the widespread sharing on social media of a video and photo showing him apparently receiving special treatment within the prison. It’s said that Darshan Thoogudeepa was taken from Bengaluru’s Parappana Agrahara Central Prison in a police vehicle.
For those not in the know, actor Darshan and his rumored partner Pavithra Gowda were apprehended on June 11 for their involvement in the murder of Renuka Swamy, a 33-year-old woman. According to reports, the Sandalwood star is said to have killed the victim following disrespectful remarks made towards Miss Gowda. Renuka, who admired Darshan, went to see him at his request, but later met with her tragic end due to extensive abuse.
