As a long-time enthusiast of eastern mythology and Chinese literature, particularly Journey to the West, this news about Black Myth: Wukong DLC leaves me absolutely thrilled! The prospect of more chapters, potentially introducing beloved characters from the epic, is nothing short of a dream come true.
The Chinese action game titled Black Myth: Wukong has garnered both critical acclaim and strong sales figures. With the PlayStation 5 consoles selling rapidly in China due to this game, it’s rumored that additional content for Black Myth: Wukong, in the form of downloadable content (DLC), is currently being developed.
Black Myth: Wukong DLC leaked
Video game leaker Lunatic Ignus took to Twitter to discuss plans for Black Myth: Wukong DLC. According to the video game leaker, Game Science is planning two major DLCs for the new action title.
Based on what the source tells us, additional downloadable content (DLC) from Game Science is expected to significantly boost the total number of chapters within the game. Currently, there are just six chapters in the game, but if all DLCs are included, the chapter count may rise to as many as thirteen.
According to the source, the plan was for the game to consist of 13 individual sections, but due to financial constraints, they ended up releasing six extended chapters instead.
Drawing inspiration from Journey to the West, the Downloadable Content (DLC) for Wukong could potentially introduce additional characters from this classic Chinese tale to join the battle. Although the story is well-covered, there’s still room for more aspects to be added.
As a gaming enthusiast, I’m eagerly waiting for any updates on when the DLC expansions for Wukong might drop. Unfortunately, no specific timeline has been shared yet, not even a hint about whether they’ll arrive before the Xbox version hits the shelves. But if they do, oh boy, it’s going to be something worth getting excited about!
A big future for Wukong
Due to the triumph of Wukong leading to an upsurge in AAA game development within China, it’s rumored that Game Science is also developing another single-player adventure intended for a worldwide launch.
Additionally to the two Black Myth: Wukong DLC segments, it’s rumored that the developer is creating another installment in the series. Unlike previous titles inspired by Journey to the West, this new game seems to center around the legendary ancient Chinese general, Jiang Ziya.
In the realm of AAA gaming, Chinese culture remains largely unexplored, offering ample opportunities for innovation. For years, gaming industries dominated by America and Japan have held sway, but the prospect of introducing a fresh cultural perspective is exhilarating.
