Initially, Venkat Prabhu planned to cast Rajinikanth and Dhanush in his project, but after discovering the option of using technology to portray de-aging on screen, he decided to replace them both with Thalapathy Vijay. Consequently, Vijay was selected for the dual roles, necessitating some adjustments to the storyline to accommodate this change.
Nonetheless, neither the creators nor the actors have provided any formal statement about it as of now.

Previously, during an interview, film director Venkat Prabhu gave some hints about what viewers can anticipate when they watch The Greatest Of All Time in cinemas. He highlighted the unexpected twists and turns in the storylines, which increases the anticipation, but only if watched continuously.
Venkat Prabhu stated, “I dare say that you won’t be able to foresee the next sequence or guess where the movie is going. It will feel like Mankatha on a power boost.”
Additionally, the director explained that he had made the film’s genre quite obvious in the trailer. However, viewers failed to accurately predict the genre before watching the movie.
Apart from the lead role played by Thalapathy Vijay, the film also features Prabhu Deva, Prashanth, Ajmal Ameer, Mohan, Jayaram, Meenakshi Chaudhary, and other notable actors in significant parts.
