As a cinephile who’s been through the rollercoaster of Hollywood’s most controversial productions, I must say the upcoming release of “The Apprentice” is nothing short of intriguing. The fact that it’s based on the life of none other than Donald Trump himself, played by Sebastian Stan, adds an extra layer of anticipation.
A release date for The Apprentice has been set.
Under the guidance of director Ali Abbasi, The Apprentice is a fresh biographical film featuring Sebastian Stan portraying a youthful Donald Trump. This movie had its debut at the 77th Cannes Film Festival in May.
When will The Apprentice be released in United States theaters?
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Briarcliff Entertainment has obtained the rights to distribute the movie in the U.S. The release date for this film is set for October 11, 2024, when it will be shown in cinemas.
In a notable move, billionaire Dan Snyder contributed an undisclosed sum through his business, Kinematics, on the expectation that The Apprentice would present Trump in a favorable light. However, upon watching the film, Snyder expressed intense anger and made efforts to prevent its distribution.
According to an article by The Hollywood Reporter, the purchase of Kinematics’ interest in the movie enabled the Briarcliff agreement to progress.
In May 2024, Trump’s legal team issued a letter demanding that the makers of The Apprentice halt its planned release, with the intention of preventing it from being shown.
In addition to Stan, the main cast of The Apprentice includes Jeremy Strong portraying Roy Cohn, Maria Bakalova playing Ivana Trump, Martin Donovan depicting Fred Trump, Ben Sullivan as Russell Eldridge, Charlie Carrick as Fred Trump Jr., Mark Rendall as Daniel Sullivan, and Joe Pingue in the role of Anthony Salerno.
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled to share that in this movie, Daniel Bekerman, Jacob Jarek, Ruth Treacy, Julianne Forde, Abbasi, and Louis Tisné are the producers. The executive producers for this project include Amy Baer, Mark H. Rapaport, Emanuel Nunez, Phil Hunt, Compton Ross, Thorsten Schumacher, Levi Woodward, Niamh Fagan, Gabriel Sherman, Greg Denny, James Shani, Noor Alfallah, Andy Cohen, Andrew Frank, Neil Mathieson, Lee Broda, Blair Ward, and Anders Erdén.
On October 11, 2024, “The Apprentice” will premiere in theaters across the United States. Before hitting the wide screens, it’s likely that the movie will be showcased at several film festivals this autumn. Additionally, preparations are underway for an awards campaign to follow.
