As a die-hard fan of South Korean dramas, I must say that Jeong Yu-Mi is undoubtedly one of my favorite actresses! Her versatility and ability to breathe life into every character she plays are truly commendable.
The South Korean actress Jeong Yu-Mi has been making headlines lately due to her role in the TVING series “Queen Woo”. Represented by Mystic Story, she initially made her mark in the industry through commercials. Her breakout roles in “A Thousand Days’ Promise” and “Rooftop Prince” propelled her to fame. Since then, she has appeared in numerous successful and diverse K-dramas, amassing a large international fanbase along the way.
Among the other well-known roles portrayed by actress Jeong Yu-Mi, famously known for her performance as Queen Woo, are “Partners For Justice,” “Priest,” and “Bravo My Life.” This article delves into some of her standout performances in the realm of Korean dramas.
Queen Woo
The recently debuted K-drama series titled “Queen Woo” premiered on TVING on August 29, 2024. A Thousand Days’ Promise
A Thousand Days’ Vow is a well-known K-drama centering around the character Lee Seo-Yeon, portrayed by Park Soo-Ae. Due to some unlucky circumstances, she gradually forgets her past.
In the interim, she encounters a man named Park Ji-Hyung, or Park Rae-Won, who shows her boundless affection, even amidst her hardships. The character of Noh Hyang-Gi is portrayed by Jeong Yu-Mi. This K-drama can be watched online via Amazon Prime Video.
Rooftop Prince
The period drama titled “Rooftop Prince” made its debut on March 21, 2012. It revolves around the character of Crown Prince Yi Gak (played by Park Yoo-Chun). In an unexpected turn of events, he finds himself transported from the Joseon Dynasty to present-day Seoul. There, he encounters Hong Se-Na (portrayed by Jeong Yu-Mi), who bears a striking resemblance to his deceased wife.
In time, he chooses to solve the enigma surrounding her demise. Pretending to be the CEO’s grandson – a man who bears a striking resemblance to him – within the same firm where she was employed, he maintains contact with her. This intriguing tale can be found on Netflix and Viki.
Bravo My Life
The captivating K-drama known as “Bravo My Life” focuses on the journeys of three characters: a PD, an assistant director, and an actor, all grappling with their personal and professional hurdles. Jeong Yu-Mi, playing the role of assistant director Ha Do-Na, is often referred to as a “workaholic” due to her unwavering dedication. Her ambition lies in achieving the title of director someday.
The show titled “Bravo My Life” made its debut on October 21, 2017. Starring Do Ji-Won, Park Sang-Min, Yeon Jung-Hoon, Hyun Woo, and Kang Ji-Sub, among others, this series is now available for streaming on Viki.
Partners For Justice
As a gaming enthusiast, I’d say “I’ve just wrapped up ‘Partners For Justice,’ a captivating series running over two seasons. It revolves around Baek Beom, portrayed by Jung Jae-Young, a seasoned forensic doctor with unmatched skills but guarded emotions. On the flip side, we have Jeong Yu-Mi stepping into the shoes of Eun-Sol, a fresh-faced prosecutor from a wealthy family, who’s as bright as they come. In this thrilling tale, these two join forces to bring down a relentless serial killer.”
The initial series premiered on May 14, 2018, while the second installment followed on June 3, 2019. You can catch this gripping drama across numerous online streaming services such as Netflix, Viki, Amazon Prime Video, among others.
Beyond the role of Queen Woo, actress Jeong Yu-Mi boasts a diverse repertoire in other hit dramas as well.
