After passing the Snow-Veiled Trail Shrine in The New West, you’ll find The Great Pagoda. This remarkable structure lies atop the Mani Wheel, reached after a climb up the Pagoda Realm. Upon reaching the summit, you will encounter Captain Wise Voice before finally arriving at your destination.

There is only one route from there, so take it. You will eventually arrive at the Snow-Veiled Shrine and can go either left, up the stairs, or right, down a snowy path and across a bridge. Take the right path and follow it all the way to the end to arrive at the Great Pagoda. Interact with the massive front door to head inside.

What to do at the Great Pagoda

The Great Pagoda serves as a chronicle of your journeys. Upon completing each Chapter, a mural unfolds on its walls. The intrigue lies in having six Chapters, yet only seven spaces for murals – one in the center remains empty. This vacancy signifies a hidden boss battle, and you must unravel several other mysteries to truly unveil the Great Pagoda’s secret.

In order to reveal the secret, you will need to take the following steps.

In Chapter 3, you’ll come across the ‘Treasure Hunter’ mission at the Bitter Shore. This exciting journey assists someone chasing their own secret and culminates in an enjoyable boss battle. For a comprehensive walkthrough on completing this task, refer to our ‘Treasure Hunter Quest Guide’.

Complete all secret areas in the game

Exploring these secret spots might be a lengthy task, yet there are four hidden levels in the game that you should definitely check out. To complete them, you’ll have to work your way through each level, ultimately defeating the final enemy in every single one of them.

  • Chapter 1 – The Ancient Guanyin Temple that you can reach by ringing the three bells.
  • Chapter 2 – The Kingdom of Sahali, which you can reach by helping to sober up the drunken pig and then fighting him at the gates where you first meet him.
  • Chapter 4 – The Purple Cloud Mountain that you can reach by finding and killing the Venom Daoist.
  • Chapter 5 – The Bishui Cave, which you can find by taking out all the demon carts for the Pale-Axe Stalwart.

After completing all your tasks, you can head back to the Grand Pagoda. There, an NPC will be standing by, ready to grant you access to a fresh region. In this new locale, you’ll encounter various boss battles and satisfying resolutions for at least one character you’ve previously encountered. Enjoy!

You don’t necessarily have to complete Chapter 6 first to reach this part of the game, so you can tackle the enigma hidden within the mural without defeating the final boss initially.
