In 2012, Suriya’s movie Maattrraan gained significant popularity for its unusual storyline about conjoined twins. This attention grew even more substantial as it was claimed to be the first Indian film centered around conjoined twins, although two additional films with similar themes emerged later. However, there is an intriguing detail concerning the Telugu dubbed version of this film, titled Brothers – it wasn’t Suriya who provided the voice for both twins but rather his younger brother and actor Karthi who dubbed for one twin, while Suriya took on the role of the other.

Based on various news articles, it appears that the actor from Soorarai Pottru had a packed schedule due to filming for Singam 2 at the time. In his stead, Karthi offered assistance. Notably, this was Suriya’s first time dubbing in Telugu for the character Akhilan, with his brother stepping up to dub for the other twin character, Vimalan.

Previously, during an earlier occasion, the movie’s director expressed, “Karthi was so deeply moved by the film that he wished, hypothetically, he and his brother Suriya had been born as twins linked at birth.”

Suresh, under their banner AGS Entertainment.

This suspenseful movie centers on two connected twins who are determined to protect their father’s growing enterprise from a secret agent. But an unexpected disclosure could drastically alter their fate mere moments before the spy meets his end. In the meantime, Suriya is preparing for the launch of his long-anticipated movie titled “Kanguva,” set to hit theaters on October 10, 2024. Alongside him, this film features actors such as Bobby Deol, Disha Patani, Natarajan Subramaniam, Jagapathi Babu, and Yogi Babu. Siva is the director of Kanguva, a fantasy action film.
