Aditi Rao Hydari reminisces the moment Siddharth proposed to her at her favourite childhood place, spills beans about her marriage plans

This year in March, Siddharth and Aditi Rao Hydari swapped wedding bands. The duo have been together since 2021 and are preparing for their wedding later in the same year. In a recent conversation with Vogue India, Aditi spoke candidly about her relationship with Siddharth and disclosed how he popped the question.

Aditi reminisced about the continuous jest that Siddharth had been exchanging with her for more than a year. Frequently, he’d pretend to get down on one knee as if proposing, yet in reality, he’d merely tinker with his shoelaces instead.

To honor this connection, Siddharth escorted her to the city and led her to the school she once attended. He even took her back to the place where she spent her cherished childhood days.

She shared that he knelt down and asked her, “What seems to have been misplaced? Whose shoelaces are undone?”, to which he replied persistently, “Addu, pay attention to me”. Afterward, he proposed. He mentioned his intention of taking her to her cherished childhood location, a place with the blessings of her grandmother.

In the course of the interview, Aditi Rao Hydari recounted her initial encounter with Siddharth during the filming of Maha Samudram in 2021. She expressed that “He entered and greeted me with ‘Hello, lovely lady’. Normally, such a line doesn’t resonate. But he was sincere. By the end of the day, he had us all, including the crew, in stitches. Additionally, he made sure that my team and I received homemade ghee idlis prepared by his cook for the remainder of the shoot.”

Aditi shared more details about her upcoming wedding with Siddharth, revealing that the event will focus on a 400-year-old temple in Wanaparthy which holds special meaning for her family.
