Initially, it was planned that Suriya would take the main role in the movie “Purananooru,” making this the second project for both Suriya and the director following “Soorarai Pottru.” However, an announcement was later made with Dulquer Salmaan, Nazriya Nazim Fahadh, and Vijay Verma as key cast members. Despite this, the release of the film got postponed.
Following Suriya’s collaboration with Karthik Subbaraj on the tentative project known as Suriya 44, there were whispers about Sudha Kongara taking over and casting Sivakarthikeyan as the lead. Now, it appears that Sudha Kongara will be working alongside Sreeleela for this upcoming movie.

On the professional side of Sudha Kongara, her latest directorial project was Sarfira, a film featuring Akshay Kumar and Radhika Madan. This movie is actually a remake of Soorarai Pottru, with Paresh Rawal reprising his character from the original.
The movie is based on G.R. Gopinath’s autobiography titled “Simply Fly: A Deccan Odyssey,” and it narrates the story of an individual who endeavors to establish low-fare airlines. Although receiving favorable criticisms, the film underperformed at the cinema.
