Peter Dinklage on if The Toxic Avenger Is Ever Getting Released: ‘Write to Your Congressmen’

As a dedicated fan who has followed Peter Dinklage’s illustrious career from “Game of Thrones” to “Cyrano,” I must say that his latest venture, the new Toxic Avenger movie, has left me on the edge of my seat with anticipation. Having seen him bring such depth and complexity to every role he takes on, I can only imagine what he will bring to the table as The Toxic Avenger.

Peter Dinklage isn’t sure when the new Toxic Avenger movie will be released.

Back in November of 2020, I got myself signed up for an exciting new project: starring as The Toxic Avenger! We wrapped filming in the year that followed, and it was screened at Fantastic Fest in September 2023. Incredibly, it was also shown at Beyond Fest around the same time. Since then, however, there’s been a deafening silence regarding a broader release for this movie.

Speaking with Collider, Dinklage said he wasn’t sure what the plans are for the movie’s release.

What did Peter Dinklage say about the new Toxic Avenger movie’s release?

“Just like you, I’m clueless about the situation,” Dinklage stated. “My good friend Macon Blair, who co-wrote and directed Toxic Avenger, is Malachai in The Thicket. It’s a pleasure working with him, and if given the chance, I’d work on every movie with him. Here’s hoping it hits theaters soon.”

Dinklage jokingly said that Toxic Avenger fans could “write to your congressmen” in order to get the movie released. He added, “I don’t know what you do in this situation.”

Joining Peter Dinklage is the cast for The Toxic Avenger, marking the fifth film in the series that began with 1984’s original release. This includes Jacob Tremblay, Taylour Paige, Kevin Bacon, Sarah Niles, Elijah Wood, Blair (whose full name is not specified), and Jane Levy, among others.

The story revolves around Winston Gooze, an ordinary janitor facing numerous struggles, who undergoes a terrible toxic incident that leads to a remarkable transformation – he becomes The Toxic Avenger! Now equipped with superhuman strength and using a radiant mop as his unique weapon, he embarks on a mission against time to rescue his son and thwart an oppressive corporate magnate who aims to exploit these toxic powers for personal gain and expand his polluted dominion.
