Smile 2 Runtime: Horror Movie Sequel Is Longer Than Original

As a die-hard horror movie enthusiast who has survived countless sleepless nights thanks to these spine-chilling films, I must say that the news about Smile 2‘s extended runtime of 132 minutes only adds fuel to my excitement! With my heart pounding in anticipation and my eyes glued to the clock, I eagerly await the chilling encounters that Parker Finn has promised.

The updated version of “Smile 2” has been unveiled, as the forthcoming Paramount horror movie is expected to run slightly longer than its initial release.

What is the Smile 2 runtime?

As per a recent report by Feature First, the running time for Smile 2 is approximately 132 minutes, equivalent to 2 hours and 12 minutes. This new film is around 15 minutes longer than its predecessor, which ran for about 115 minutes (or 1 hour and 55 minutes).

The movie was created and supervised by Parker Finn, known for directing Smile and Laura Didn’t Sleep. Principal photography started in January 2024, concluding in March after the wrap-up of production.

In the upcoming sequel, Kyle Gallner will once again take on the character he played in the original film, Joel. Joining him are a host of talented actors such as Naomi Scott, Lukas Gage, Rosemarie DeWitt, Dylan Gelula, Raúl Castillo, and Miles Gutierrez-Riley.

This March, I couldn’t help but share my enthusiasm for the upcoming film “Smile 2” when discussing it with ScreenRant. The anticipation I have for this one is palpable! It seems like this year will be a bonanza of sequels. I can hardly wait for you to experience it too. Parker Finn, the director, has an uncanny understanding and knack for this particular genre of movies, skillfully breathing new life into it while keeping it fresh. The creative approach he took is simply captivating. It’s almost baffling that no one thought to use that chilling smile as a motif before—my version of the creepy smile is quite something!

In September 2022, Smile made its debut in U.S. cinemas. This movie was a massive success for Paramount Pictures, earning around $217.4 million at the worldwide box office with an approximate production budget of $17 million. Alongside Gallner, the film featured Sosie Bacon, Jessie T. Usher, Robin Weigert, Caitlin Stasey, Kal Penn, Rob Morgan, and Gillian Zinser. Now, you can catch Smile on Prime Video.

On October 18, 2024, Smile 2 will hit the big screens of U.S. movie theaters, courtesy of Paramount Pictures.
