Actor Lee Jung-jae, who portrayed Jedi Master Sol in the Star Wars series, is expressing his thoughts following the unexpected termination of the show after just a single season.
Leslye Headland’s series, The Acolyte, regrettably did not get a green light for a second season. The specific reasons behind its cancellation are yet unknown. Nevertheless, reports suggest that the show didn’t attract enough viewers to justify another season.
What did Lee Jung-jae say about The Acolyte cancellation?
Though Lee understands that, due to his character’s demise in the initial season, he won’t be part of Season 2, he remains optimistic about the show continuing and growing in the years ahead.
The actor shared with Entertainment Weekly that since his character passed away in the first season, he wouldn’t have been part of any potential second season. However, he highly appreciated Leslye’s writing and directing skills, finding her a gifted storyteller who excelled in developing characters and constructing meaningful narratives within the story. In fact, he was eager to see what Season 2 under her leadership would have looked like. Upon hearing that she wouldn’t be there for Season 2, he admitted his personal surprise.
He expressed, “To be honest, I’m crossing my fingers for potential adjustments in the future. After all, you just never know what might transpire. On a very hopeful note, I truly wish we’ll get to witness more tales from Leslye’s second season on a personal level.”
As a devoted fan, I’d like to share that in this captivating story, I find myself immersed in the role of Amandla Stenberg as Osha, once a Padawan trainee who meets her Jedi Master (Lee) again for an intriguing mission. This journey takes us through investigations of various crimes, but what we stumble upon is a force much darker than either of us could have foreseen.
