As someone who’s been through the high school rodeo myself, let me tell you that “Incoming” on Netflix is a blast from the past! It’s got all the ingredients of a classic teen comedy: friendship, romance, and a whole lot of awkwardness. The Chernin brothers have done an excellent job of capturing the essence of those formative years, making us laugh, cringe, and reminisce about our own experiences.
Netflix has now unveiled the racy teen comedy “Incoming,” which bears a striking resemblance to timeless teen comedies such as “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and the “American Pie” series. We were fortunate enough to catch a sneak peek of this film prior to its premiere, and having seen it, we can confidently say it’s a strong contender in the genre.
As a former high school student myself, I can say with confidence that the new comedy “Waymont High” perfectly captures the excitement and anticipation of starting freshman year and the desire to attend your first high school party. Having grown up in a similar environment, I found the characters relatable and their experiences authentic. The sons of film producer Peter Chernin, Dave and John Chernin, have done an exceptional job in bringing this story to life. This is their feature debut, and I’m excited to see what other projects they’ll tackle in the future. Overall, “Waymont High” is a must-watch for anyone who wants to reminisce about their own high school days or simply enjoy a good laugh.
Among his friends, Benja is particularly excited about the upcoming party as he plans to express his feelings for his long-standing crush, Bailee. However, as we all know, things seldom run smoothly at school gatherings, and Benja discovers this truth upon his arrival.
However, let me explain the final outcomes for Benji and Bailey, as well as Connor, Koosh, and Eddie in the story titled “Incoming“.

Benj and Bailey do not end up together in Incoming
As it seemed like Benj was about to win over the girl he adored, things took an unexpected turn. Following their first kiss at the gathering, Benj found himself floating on cloud nine, enjoying Bailey’s company at the party. However, Benj got caught up in the wrong group of seniors who convinced him to try ketamine off a girl’s abdomen. This action left Bailey surprised and disappointed since it was unlike Benj. She promptly exited the party, leaving Benj remorseful as he realized he had jeopardized their relationship.
Struggling on how to rekindle things with Bailey, Benjamin seeks guidance from his elder sister. She suggests he should be genuine and not pretend to be someone else. Heeding her advice, Benjamin makes an extravagant gesture in hopes of regaining Bailey’s favor, but it goes unnoticed. This unfolds during the return ceremony for students at Waymont High School.
At the school assembly in the gymnasium, Benj requests permission from the principal to address his fellow students. He proceeds to the stage, grabs the microphone, and reveals his emotions towards Bailey by singing a song dedicated to her. After finishing the performance, he drops to one knee to propose, but unfortunately, she declines his offer. The audience in the gym is on tenterhooks as they await Bailey’s response. However, it turns out not to be the answer Benj was hoping for; instead, she tells him no and walks away from the gym.
All of the students in the gym begin screaming and laughing at the rejection while also exiting the gym. Connor, Koosh, and Eddie walk up to Benj and try to console him, but all Benj can do is stare at Bailey as she exits the gym. Just as Bailey is about to turn the corner, she looks back at Benj, winks, and then smiles at him. This lets Benj know that Bailey did actually enjoy his grand gesture but is just playing hard to get. When asked by his friends if he’s okay, Benj responds by saying that he’s good and that there’s a lot of year left. In other words, he’s not done chasing after Bailey.
Here are some other things that happened at the end of Incoming:
- In a post-credits scene, Mr. Studebaker is asked to go to the principal’s office. The principal shows him a clip of him at the high school party, drinking and blowing fire. Due to this inappropriate behavior, she fires him.
- Since Connor and Eddie helped care for Katrina during the night of the party, she invites them to sit with her and her friends at the welcome back ceremony as a thank you.
- Eddie finally stands up to his mom’s boyfriend.
- Koosh comes to the realization that his brother is not a good guy and that he shouldn’t look up to him. He tells his friends to start calling him by his real name instead of Koosh.
